General Information: Tenaris is a global leading producer and supplier of seamless steel tubes and a supplier of tube management, storage and distribution services for the oil & gas, power and mechanic industries. It is also a leading regional supplier of welded steel tubes for gas pipelines in South America. With production mills in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Rumania and Venezuela and a network of customer service centers in over 20 countries, Tenaris has an annual throughout of 3 million tons of seamless tubes, a consolidated turnover of more than US$ 4.1 billion and 16,500 employees around the world. Tenaris shares are traded at Stock Exchanges in Buenos Aires, Italy, Mexico and New York.
Tenaris Siderca is the brand used to designate Tenaris operations in Argentina that has a fully integrated production cycle which starts with the direct reduction of iron ore and concludes with the manufacture and finishing of steel tubes under API, ISO and JIS standards.
Continues investment in the facilities makes Tenaris Siderca processes an example of continuous technological innovation. This is also thanks to the Industrial Research Centers. One of the Centers is located in Siderca and is included in the visited. It is an internationally recognized scientific entity, considered a major contributor to the development of new products as well as enhancement of technological processes.
In addition, Siderca Research Center maintains close relations with academic studies centers like the Buenos Aires University, Milan Polytechnic Institute, Balseiro Institute, University of Cambridge and MIT.

Tenaris Siderca
Tenaris Siderca is the brand used to designate Tenaris operations in Argentina, situated 75 km from Buenos Aires City, on the banks of the Paraná River. Its plant based in Campana, Province of Buenos Aires, has a fully integrated production cycle which starts with the direct reduction of iron ore and concludes with the manufacture and finishing of steel tubes under API, ISO and JIS standards.
In Villa Mercedes, Province of San Luis, it manufactures sucker rods, car parts and plastic protectors for Tenaris tube threads.

Continuous investment in the facilities makes Tenaris Siderca processes an example of continuous technological innovation. Ternium Siderar Plant
General Information: Ternium is one of the leading steel companies in the Americas. It manufactures and processes a broad spectrum of value-added steel products, including tinplate, galvanized and electro galvanized sheets, pre-painted sheets, welded pipes, hot rolled and cold rolled steel, as well as slit and cut-to-length offerings through own service centers. Long steel products such as bars and wire rod are also produced.
Its integrated manufacturing facilities, with production capacity of approximately 12 million tons of finished steel products, are mainly located in Mexico, Venezuela and Argentina, providing a strong position from which to serve Ternium core markets throughout the Americas.
Ternium’s production costs are among the lowest in the industry as a result of its favorable access to energy and proximity to iron ore sources, which is further enhanced by proprietary mines in Mexico.
Ternium Siderar - the largest steel company in Argentina has 7 manufacturing centers in the province of Buenos Aires as well as in the provinces of Santa Fe and San Luis. Moreover Ternium Siderar has its own network of service centers in the main steel consuming areas of Argentina and also uses the Ternium network of sales offices based in most of Latin America’s top consumer capitals.
The plant to be visited is located 240 Km from Buenos Aires city, on the banks of the Paraná River. This plant based in San Nicolás, Province of Buenos Aires, has a fully integrated production cycle which starts with the blast furnace and concludes in flat hot and cold rolled products.
